A special student poster session will take place during delegate registration on Sunday, June 24 in Ballroom C. Posters should be mounted from 15:00 and presented from 16:00 to 18:00. In accordance with the guidelines for publication of associated papers, posters must also be displayed during the regular poster sessions.
Students wishing to participate should be registered for a PhD or diploma in accelerator physics or engineering, or be working as a trainee accelerator physicist or engineer in the educational phase of their professional career.
IEEE/NPSS Student Paper Awards
Two awards, $500 each, for outstanding student contributions accepted for poster and/or oral presentation, will be presented to students who meet the criteria below and whose work is presented in this special session. The purpose of these awards is to recognize outstanding student contributions as principal or sole authors of papers, encourage greater student participation as well as to acknowledge the importance of student contributions in the fields supported by the NPSS.

Prize:
Each of the two best contributions will receive a cash award of $500 and a Certificate.
Eligibility:
Any student identified as the principal or sole author/researcher and is the presenter of either a poster or an oral paper is eligible. If there is a tie, preference will be set in the following order:
- IEEE / NPSS members
- IEEE members
- non-IEEE members
Two further $500 awards, for quality of work and promise for the future, will be awarded to students identified as the principal or sole author/researcher and presenting their work in the special session for students.
Basis of selection:
The on-site awards committee will decide the winners on the basis of technical content and originality of research work, as well as organization, clarity, presentation skill and visual display.
Presentation:
If possible, the award winners will be announced during the Awards Session on Wednesday, June 27. Otherwise, the awardees will be notified by mail or e-mail.
